Elegant Update

Bryan, TX

My clients had lived in their house for many years and it was in need of an update.   The bathrooms needed upgrades as did the kitchen. The kitchen was closed off from the family room and there was an odd eat-in area that was cut off from the rest of the kitchen. The clients wanted something classic and elegant – but with a small budget.

The kitchen was completely gutted and opened up to the family room and to the cut-off eat-in area.  The blue tile of the kitchen was the design element that makes this kitchen pop. The knobs add a touch of whimsy to the kitchen and because we used different designs for the knobs they all work together but aren’t all the same.

The downstairs guest bath got a partial update as they didn’t want to change out the shower completely and the wood vanity only got a refresh. The countertop, sink, light fixtures, floors, mirrors, hardware are all new. The master bedroom needed a refresh and the master bath needed a complete overhaul.

We changed out the entrance to the bedroom and bathroom so that you can now only access the bathroom from the master bedroom. Before, you could access it from a hallway outside the bedroom and also from the bedroom. There were two doors leading into the bathroom. We created a small hallway leading into the bedroom with access to the bathroom on one side. In the bedroom, we changed out the bed, all lighting, and bed linens. In the bathroom with one of the doors now closed off, we could finally give them a double sink vanity. The bathroom was a complete overhaul and we kept the same color scheme from the bedroom to the bathroom.
